Attack The Block, 2011

As someone who grew up in an estate and various other places around London, this movie's characters felt like a mix of people I've met before and known well.
The plot outline is incredibly simple, kids from the ends fight against an alien invasion.
The protagonists are in no way "good", with them all choosing the life they have except for the main character (debatable) and hiding it from their parental figures.
The main 5 meet their main ally (portrated by Jodie Whittaker) by robbing them (also fun fact I've been pointed a machete by people like that once), and a large amount of the movie is their relationship and unlikely friendship(?).
It's also got a lot of action scenes and some gory scenes that could've come from a horror, and the main 5 also use bikes and motorbikes (my kamen rider brain got neuron activation from it lol) through part of the film.
The main character (portrayed by John Boyega, this is his first movie feature) is a victim of his upbringing more than anything else and I won't spoil beyond that.
It felt really like Shaun of the Dead if it was set in South London, it's even got Nick Frost!
It's a pretty good movie in my opinion, if you have 90 minutes free go watch it!
